Blues, Fusion, Funk party

Blues, fusion and swing dancers - this is a night for you! Fun partner dancing on a Friday night to blues music, funky tunes and everything in between. Including a 1 hour blues/fusion class to show you how to connect to the music, connect to your dance partner and get you in the dancing mood.

 

The class will be based on juke joint blues style and utilize elements

from different styles of dancing. If you're already a partner dancer,

in any style, you can use your existing knowledge to be creative.

If you're a beginner then you can find your feet with simple moves.

 

Then after the class it's on to the dance party!

There will be tea and coffee provided, other drinks BYO.

 

Most of all, this is a place to enjoy the tunes, get to know dancers

from different styles and express your creativity.

Solo dancing also very welcome.

8:00-10:30pm - dance tunes and social dancing

 

About your host:

Helen has been dancing swing and blues since 2000 - yes a very long time! She's taught lindy hop and blues in Edinburgh, UK from 2005-2014 and run many blues workshops and weekend events during that time, including Edinburgh's blues weekend Bluez Cruize and the UK's first blues and fusion weekend long party in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2012.

 

Helen loves mixing things up in partner dance and has experienced many styles of partner dance and solo dance. After an extended hiatus she has decided it's time to bring her flavour of blues, fusion and creative partner dance fun to Brisbane.
